Withdrawal from metal account
If you wish to withdraw in new metals, the value is available after 5 business days. If you wish to have the value paid out in cash, you will receive this in your bank account within 7 business days.

Metal account is a service we offer all our precious metal customers.
We currently have many customers using metal accounts. A metal account is an account for settlement between K.A.Rasmussen AS and the customer, expressed in weight for each metal. The weights represent the amount of fine metals available to the parties at the time of trading or settlement.
Deposits, withdrawals, or balances on a metal account are considered transactions or settlements stated in weight and not in monetary value. You can view your balance under “My Account” in the online store.

How it works
Order a free and insured return shipment.
Fill in the necessary information digitally here.
Place the completed form and items in the return packaging or other suitable packaging. The return label works regardless.
Have the package collected or deliver the package at the post office and keep the receipt you receive.
We receive and inspect the package before we assess the value of the contents.
You receive an offer based on the metal price.
Upon accepted offer – money in metal account or bank account within 5 business days.
Frequently asked questions
How is the price for gold and silver calculated?
For gold: weight in grams x today’s price at the time of valuation.
For silver: Weight in kilos x today’s price at the time of valuation.
Your price is calculated based on weight and metal price at the time of valuation. This is not necessarily the same day we receive your valuables. Upon accepted offer, the money will be paid out within a few business days. See also our terms and conditions here.
The metals do not fit in the packaging you sent me
If the metals you wish to send in are too large to fit in the return envelope, you can attach the return label to suitable packaging.
Do I have to use your return shipment?
No, you do not have to use our return shipment, but we recommend it as the return will be insured.

Refining - what does it mean?
In certain cases, you as a customer will achieve the best price if the item is first refined and analyzed before the submitted metals are priced. In this case, it will take at least 14 days before we are allowed to refine the submission. The reason for this is the 14-day storage obligation pursuant to our second-hand dealer license.
If this is the case for your submission, you will be contacted when we have received your package.
If I do not wish to sell after all, can I get my items back?
Yes, you can. For an insured return of metals, you will be invoiced 350 kr in costs.
What does valuation cost with you?
You pay nothing for our valuation. We perform a pricing, which is based on analysis results and weight, and is done according to the current price at the time of valuation – not submission.
Do I get paid for stones and diamonds?
We do not provide settlement for stones and diamonds.
We do not send such items back either, so these must be removed before any submission.
I do not want to send the metals by mail, what do I do?
You can come in person to deliver your metals in Hamar and Oslo.

I cannot deliver myself, what do I do?
The person who has identified themselves, completed the self-declaration, and is the owner of the bank account must be the same. If you then send someone else, that is acceptable.

Policy for responsible metal trading and self-declaration
We at K.A. Rasmussen have a policy for responsible metal trading which aims to ensure that the group’s precious metals:
- …have their origin in accordance with applicable rules and industry standards that apply in the countries where the company operates, including standards concerning social responsibility, environment, conflict and high-risk areas
- …are acquired in a manner that prevents enabling or participation in money laundering or other financial crime, as defined in applicable legislation.
